Easy Homemade Pizza

Alfredo Sauce

An Alfredo Sauce is great on pizza. It is often associated with a White Pizza, but we use it as simply an alternative to tomato sauce and put all sorts of toppings with it.

Basically a white sauce with parmesan cheese, this is the classic sauce for Fettucine Alfredo.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Tbs Butter, Unsalted
  • 1 Clove Garlic, Chopped *
  • 2 Tbs All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 Cups Heavy Cream
  • 1/2 Cup whole Milk
  • 3 Tbs Fresh Chives, Chopped
  • 1 Cup Parmesan Cheese
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

* Optional

Directions:

  1. Melt butter in sauce pan over medium heat
  2. Add garlic and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, do not let brown
  3. Add flour and whisk until smooth. Gradually pour in cream and milk and whisk frequently
  4. Slowly bring sauce to a rolling boil, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens
  5. Remove from heat and add the chives and parmesan cheese, stirring gently
