Easy Homemade Pizza

Deep Dish Pizza Recipe

This deep dish pizza recipe is a traditional recipe like you would find in the great Chicago pizza restaurants. Use a deep dish pan to ensure best results for your homemade pizza.

Ingredients:

  • 1 28 can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 Tsp dried basil
  • 1 Tsp dried oregano
  • 10 ounces sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 pound italian sausage with casing removed
  • olive oil

Directions:

Preheat oven to 475 degrees

In a large mixing bowl combine tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt and mix well. Set aside.

Place deep dish dough in an oiled deep dish pan.

Spread dough evenly in the bottom of the pan. Starting from the center and working to the outside. Form a lip or shoulder around the outside of the dough along the sides of the pan.

Letting the dough sit for 10 to 15 minutes will make it easier to spread in the pan.

Using a fork, prick the dough along the bottom.

Pre-bake crust for 4 minutes in pre-heated oven.

Layer mozzarella cheese slices evenly over bottom of pre-baked dough. Spoon tomato mixture evenly over cheese. Sprinkle parmesan cheese over tomatoes. Pinch small pieces of sausage over the parmesan cheese. Drizzle with olive oil.

Bake pizza for 30 to 35 minutes until crust is golden brown and sausage is cooked thoroughly.
