Onion and Garlic Pizza Dough
This
onion and garlic pizza dough makes a wonderful savory flavored dough perfect for a variety of different pizza toppings. We are
using dry ingredients, but try chopping fresh onion and garlic to add both flavor and texture.
The following onion and garlic pizza dough recipe will make enough dough for one (1) approximately 14 inch (large)
diameter pizza. You can scale this recipe to any quantity you like and that will fit your equipment.
For example, if you want to make 2 large pizzas simply double all of the ingredients.
Ingredients:
- 1 Tbs Olive Oil
- 2/3 Cup Lukewarm Water
- 1/4 Tsp Salt
- 1 Tsp Active Dry Yeast
- 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 Tsp Onion Powder
- 2 Cups Bread Flour
Directions:
- Dissolve 1 package of yeast in 1/2 cup plus 2 Tbs of lukewarm water.

- Place flour in bowl of electric mixer
- Add dissolved yeast, oil, water, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt
- Using dough hook, mix well at medium-low speed until all ingredients are incorporated
- Increase speed to high and mix dough for 4 to 5 minutes
- Dust or oil dough ball and place in a large bowl, and cover with plastic wrap
- Let rise in a warm, draft free place for 1 to 3 hours.
A bread flour is higher in gluten and will give this crust a nice, crisp texture.
