Creating Pizza Sauce Recipes

Creating your own pizza sauce recipes is a fun and creative alternative to commercial pizza sauces. There are plenty of canned or jarred sauces available at your local grocery store or specialty food shop, but providing your family with a fresh, healthy and delicious pizza sauce is much better.

As you begin making your own sauces, take notes of the ingredients you add and delete to your base sauce. Taste the sauce frequently, but understand that the cooking process will change the flavor characteristics.

A secret is to make your pizza sauce a little “stronger” than you think it should be when you taste it. When the sauce is added to your pizza dough and then topped with cheese and other toppings, the sauce will not taste the same as it does straight out of the pot.
