Seafood Pizza and other alternative pizza flavorsMaybe a Seafood Pizza or another alternative flavor will do the trick at your next party? Likewise, are you tired of ordering the same type of pizza time and time again from your pizza delivery outlet? Fret not because this article will tell you of alternative pizza flavors that will definitely give your pizza party and your guests a boost. However, these kinds of pizza recipes require that you make and bake the pizza yourself; they can not be found in most stores. Seafood Pizza You will need basic pizza dough; you can buy frozen pizza dough from the supermarket if you want. If you have the time, you can
look for a quick pizza dough recipe and make the dough yourself. You will also need a pound of live clams, a pound of tomatoes,
two cloves of garlic that have been sliced, one fourth of a cup of parsley that have been minced, and about two teaspoon of fresh
thyme that have been minced also. Add prawns and shrimp (shelled and cooked) if you want. A crab pizza makes
a terrific main course, or is wonderful as an appetizer for a holiday or dinner party.
On one of your pizza pans, stretch your dough until it covers all sides. But before this, make sure that you have preheated your brick oven or regular oven. Cook the clams in olive oil for about five minutes or until their shells have opened, adding in the garlic and thyme for flavor. Then apply a liberal coat of tomatoes on your dough and add salt and olive oil. You can also mix in some pizza spices at this stage to add more bite to your clams. Finally, place the clams and other pizza toppings like cheese (if you want to), the shrimp and prawns (if you have decided to use them) on top of the baked dough and bake the pizza for another five minutes. Let the pizza set on your pizza rack for a couple of minutes before serving a delicious seafood pizza to your guests. If a Seafood Pizza is not the answer, maybe a this will do the trick… When we think of pesto, we automatically think of pasta. But do you know that it works well with both pasta and pizza? Instead of using the traditional pizza sauce, you can use any pesto sauce in its place. Same pizza ingredients and pizza dough are used, and baking time is the same as well. Maxi Calzone Maxi calzone is just like a pizza roll where you fold the dough over to enclose the tasty pizza ingredients inside. This kind of Italian pizza may or may not contain tomatoes, but it is full of bitter greens like spinach and beet greens though. Pancetta is also used. Other toppings like cheeses and other veggies are the same as those on any other pizza pie. Maxi calzone style pizza will also work well with dessert pizza recipes such as the fruit pizza recipe. Early Morning Pizza If you have several guests staying over for the night, what better way to perk their day up than a breakfast pizza? Instead of the usual toppings, use hash brown potatoes, breakfast sausages, tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, parsley, and cheddar cheese as toppings. Then pour a mixture of eggs, milk, salt, and pepper over the crust before you bake the dough. Taco Pizza This is a tasty pizza. The southwest meets Italy for this great Taco Pizza. Kids love tacos and they love pizza, they will love this combination as well. Spread a layer of refried beans on the pizza crust, and then layer with your favorite salsa. Cook ground beef with taco seasoning mix and layer after the salsa. Add cheese, lettuce, sour cream, and any other of your favorite ingredients. Pizza Dip Ok, so not a traditional pizza…but delicious and a great to serve with tortilla chips at your next party. Spread a package of cream cheese on the bottom of a pie dish. Layer pizza sauce, chopped onions, mozzarella cheese, sliced black olives, and pepperoni. Bake the dish at 350 degrees for 30 minutes and serve. A Seafood Pizza, Pesto Pizza, Maxi Calzone, Breakfast Pizza, Taco Pizza, or Pizza Dip are only a few of the alternatives to traditional types of pizza. We hope you will enjoy these, or will gain inspiration to try something just a little bit different. Articles |
