Easy Homemade Pizza

Shrimp Pizza Recipe

This shrimp pizza recipe substitutes olive oil for the traditional tomato sauce. The result is a lighter pizza that is perfect any time of the year. The olive oil highlights the flavors of the shrimp, not over-powering the seafood with a heavy tomato sauce.

Any number of sharp flavored cheeses can also be used, we prefer Feta Cheese but try different types or combinations to determine your preference. Vegetables can also be added for additional flavor and texture, the result is a delicious pizza low in fat and calories.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbs Olive Oil
  • 1 1/2 Cup Grated Mozzarella Cheese
  • 8 oz Diced Cooked Shrimp
  • 1/2 Cup Feta Cheese, Crumbled
  • 1/4 Cup Basil, Fresh, Chopped

Directions:

  1. Brush olive oil over pizza crust
  2. Layer with mozzarella cheese, cooked shrimp, and crumbled feta cheese
  3. Bake in 450 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown.
  4. Sprinkle fresh chopped basil evenly over pizza prior to serving

Frozen, pre-cooked shrimp is available at stores. For example, Costco sells a bag of shrimp that are also de-viened at an economical price. If using frozen shrimp be sure to thaw and drain shrimp well. Removing the moisture will prevent a soggy pizza.
