Easy Homemade Pizza

Ultimate Shrimp Pizza Recipe

Here is the recipe for our families favorite shrimp pizza. Our kids love shrimp and it is a healthy alternative to high fat proteins, so it is a great way to get the kids to eat healthy..ok, mom and dad also.

If we are preparing the dough from scratch or making a new batch of dough to freeze, we will usually use fresh shrimp. Often however, we will purchase frozen, de-veined, pre-cooked shrimp from our local Costco store and we can have a delicious, healthy meal prepared in no time at all. This is perfect for those busy times when you want a nice meal but are running a little behind.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 Cup Cocktail Suace
  • 1 Tbs Horseradish, more or less to taste
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese
  • 1 1/2 Cups Mozzarella Cheese
  • 2/3 Cup Diced, Cooked Shrimp
  • 2 Green Onions, Diced
  • 1 Tsp Grated Lemon Zest

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix cocktail sauce and horseradish
  2. Spread cream cheese evenly over pizza crust, leaving a 1/2 inch border
  3. Spread cocktail mixture evenly over cream cheese
  4. Layer mozzarella cheese, cooked shrimp, and green onions over pizza
  5. Bake at 450 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown
  6. Top with lemon zest before serving

Frozen, pre-cooked shrimp is available at stores. For example, Costco sells a bag of shrimp that are also de-viened at an economical price. If using frozen shrimp be sure to thaw and drain shrimp well. Removing the moisture will prevent a soggy pizza.
